Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) - Adults
The only salt inhaler with controlled emission of aerosols for the treatment of respiratory diseases.
COPD is a condition appearing mainly in the second half of life in which the inferior airways are narrowed due to chronic inflammation and an increased or excessive production of mucus, often of more viscous consistency, such that the air flow to and from the lungs is partially blocked.

Smoking is considered to be the main cause for this condition, followed by atmospheric pollution, repeated respiratory infection or genetic causes.

COPD manifests itself by productive coughing, especially in the morning, with abundant secretions, heavy breathing, a 'lack of air' sensation and repeated respiratory infection.

Added to the treatment recommended by the medical practitioner, the SaltMed saline inhaler may ensure the following through the controlled emission of dry, saline particles:

- Feelings of relief during breathing and an increase of effort capacity through the decrease of inflammation at a local airway level
- Increased productivity in coughing (a more efficient cough), through the fluidisation of the tracheo-bronchial secretions which makes elimination easier
- More rapid healing and the prevention of recurrent infections (acute, respiratory) and an improvement in local defense mechanisms due to SaltMed's antibacterial action (bactericidal and bacteriostatic effects)
