Frequently after a cold or flu, we / our children, are left with a persistent, dry cough which may take weeks or months to reduce. Furthermore, it comes with other inconveniences: we cannot sleep well, we disturb others and we are more tired.
In the case of an acute respiratory infection, symptoms such as fever, sore throat and headache, abundant nasal secretions, etc, are generated by inflammatory phenomena that usually last between 3 and 7 days. What is less known, is that it often takes between 4 and 6 weeks for the respiratory mucosa to recover. Although it looks like we do not have problems, the respiratory mucosa continues to be inflamed. This inflammation is responsible for the persistence of cough.
Another form of persistent cough is the productive cough. This is caused by an increased sputum production that may occur as a result of some acute respiratory infections. It appears in children or adults, in smokers or in people with chronic bronchitis. This can lead to increasingly difficult breathing, resulting in daily activities which are more and more difficult to carry out.
Irritative (dry) cough occurs more frequently at the beginning of a respiratory infection. It is dry, persistent and disrupts daily activities and sleep through sudden and unexpected fits of coughing. In this case, SaltMed may exacerbate cough in the first days of use, but healing occurs faster overall and without additional complications (such as the prolonged, exhausting dry cough or turning it into productive cough).
SaltMed therapy, consisting of regular use of the SaltMed Dry Salt inhaler, reduces inflammation in the airways and allows the mucosa to recover. At the same time, using SaltMed prevents the appearance of new infections during the period when the presence of inflammation in the mucosa increases susceptibility to infections.
During the first two weeks of treatment, it is recommended to use salt inhaler SaltMed for an hour and a half a day.
Starting from the third week of treatment, the inhaler's time of use can be reduced to one hour per day for up to two months. Type N or L cartridges may be used.
Even if the symptoms disappear quickly, we recommend using SaltMed after the cough disappears, for a period of up to 2 months due to the fact that the respiratory mucosa can take between 4 and 6 weeks to recover.
There is no risk of overdose with SaltMed therapy and there are no interactions with other drugs.
Using the SaltMed saline inhaler does not consume your time! You can use it while watching TV, reading a book or working on your computer or tablet.

I highly recommend SaltMed! My boy and I have been using it for half a year and, in addition to not ever being sick since, my boy has healed an extraordinarily strong cough, only with the device, without the need of any other medication.
